Blaine Luis grew up an athlete and spent much of his youth absorbing rock, pop, and country radio. Raised in a religious household, he would often sneak to his room and listen to 101 WRIF, playing air guitar along with rock & roll's greatest hits. He first began playing piano at the age of eleven, eventually performing in recitals at a local catholic church with his sister. At the age of thirteen he received his first guitar, but it would be many years before he felt a calling to pursue music.

During his teenage years, Luis spent his time devoted to football and track & field, only playing guitar occasionally. In his early twenties, he sought a degree in video production and began working in healthcare, caring for many sick and broken souls. Then one summer day, he heard John Mayer's performance of Gravity Live at Nokia and everything changed. It sent him on a journey that ultimately led to his discovery of many blues legends such as Eric Clapton, B.B. King, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Philip Sayce, and Matt Schofield. Thus surfaced a late blooming desire to play music for a living.

By the time the blues had reached him, he had already been on a journey of failures, triumphs, heartbreak, and self discovery. These elements, along with Luis' bold guitar skills and soulful baritone vocals have culminated in gripping performances that take listeners on an exciting rock & roll ride.

Currently in the process of writing songs for his debut album, Luis performs regularly as a solo acoustic act and with his trio, the Blaine Luis Band. Their performances comprise a list of unrecorded originals and covers that includes everything from ZZ Top to James Brown, Chris Stapleton, and KC & The Sunshine Band in a cohesive blues rock package. In July of 2023, they performed at and won the Adventure Bound Green Valley Battle of the Bands and received a $2,500 live recording package at The Starlight Room from their performance during the White Lake Walk The Beat Festival.

The Blaine Luis Band is set to open on February 3, 2024 for NBC’s “The Voice” 2016 finalist and Michigan’s own Laith Al-Saadi at Franke Center For The Arts in Marshall, Michigan.
